In reply, the Sri Lankan team made 247 runs in 45.5 overs. Skipper Dimuth Karunaratne (97) scored the highest runs for Sri Lanka. He struck out nine fours in his 108-ball innings. Isuru Udana and Dhananjaya de Silva got two wickets while Sri Lankan Lasith Malinga got one wicket. Two Australian batsmen returned to the pavilion after being run out.
Changes In Both Team
Sri Lanka made a change to their team for this match. In the place of Suranga Lakmal, Milinda Siriwardana is included. The Australian team also made a change. The Kangaroo team included Jason Behrendorff in place of Nathan Coulter-Nile. The Australian team looks good in comparison to Sri Lanka. Five-time world champion Kangaroos have defeated Afghanistan, West Indies, and Pakistan in the current World Cup, but in the meantime, it has to face defeat from India.
Australia all-rounder Marcus Stonis could not be available for this match. Australia will hope that they will be available for the match against Bangladesh.
