Dhoni finished the match in his style by hitting back to back boundary on the ball of Marcus Stoney’s. India has won the match by 6 wickets and has made a 1-0 lead in the series.
India was struggling in a phase when they lost their fourth wicket, but Dhoni and Jadhav eased all the pressure and in the end, put pressure on Australia to fight against the opposite. Fourth consecutive half century for the former Indian captain.
Dhoni made it so easy that for the 28 runs in 30 deliveries, there were also six wickets in hand. And do not forget the presence of two experienced batmans in between.
Man of the Match, Kedar Jadhav:-
he’s been fantastic. If there is any doubt about his chance, he once again assured Indian fans that he is the best man for the number six slot. He puts here another valuable fifty for a difficult run chase. The partnership between them is approaching 100.
Kedar Jadhav smiles saying that his bowling is about reading the minds of all angles and batsmen because he wants to bowl a stump-to-stump. Believes that he does not feel like a bowler and just shakes his arm. Thank you for continuously guiding by MS Dhoni and he says that he is learning from Dhoni and Kohli because they are the best finisher.
On the question that Dhoni was not there, how he would have batted – Jadhav smiled and replied that he would have tried to play more shots before, but MSD can read your mind and reminds you about the status of the game. Every time you think about the team, then this sign that you will cross the line and end up on the winning side.
Dhoni with the tag of Match finisher:-
This is not the easiest surface to bat on and Dhoni is spending his time as usual. In this way, he loves batting especially during chasing these kinds of difficult totals. Consequently, the required run rate has increased. India needs 110 runs out of 114 balls and it is about 6 run an over. At this situation, one wicket can make pressure on India. This match proves Dhoni’s troller that he can change own performance as per match condition.
Indians have started the series on a positive note and what is more important is that their middle order is answering the questions which were being raised. There is a lot in the far side that they want to do better, mainly on the batting front.
The Australian team is struggling with its 50-over form and would like to set it straight in the next match.
It will be played at a Vidarbha Cricket Association Stadium, Nagpur. It will start from 13:30 local (08:00 GMT) on Tuesday, March 5th. See the blog for that game. Until then, care and cheers!
