IPL 2019; 2nd QLFR: Chennai Break Delhi’s Dream, Reached In Final

The second qualifier match of IPL 2019 was played between Chennai Super Kings and Delhi Capitals at Visakhapatnam’s YS Rajasekhara Reddy Cricket Stadium. In this match, Chennai defeated Delhi by six wickets to enter the finals of the 12th edition of the IPL. In the final, Chennai will compete with Mumbai on May 12 at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad.

Batting first, losing the toss in the match, Delhi Capitals scored 147 for 9 in 20 overs. Rishabh Pant top scored with 38 runs for Delhi. For Chennai, Bhajji, Chahar, Jadeja, and Bravo took 2-2 wickets. Imran Tahir’s took 1 wicket.

Delhi Did Not Recover From Bad Start

Delhi Capitals started poorly in the match but that they could not recover till the end. Delhi had lost 5 wickets for just 80 runs in 12.5 overs at a time. Rishabh Pant held one end and led Delhi to a respectable score by taking small partnerships with lower-order batsmen.

Ishant Sharma and Amit Mishra got the boundary in the last two overs, brought Delhi’s score to 147, otherwise, it was difficult to score a score of 130. Prithvi Shaw 5 and Shikhar Dhawan scored 18 runs. Colin Munro scored 27 runs. In response to this, Chennai’s start is a great one.

Du Plessis And Watson Hit 50

Openers Shane Watson and Faf du Plessis of Chennai struggled to make runs for the first four overs. But the good thing was that the wicket did not fall. After this du Plessis changed his gear and convincingly with Watson, the score of Chennai reached 81 in 10.1 overs without any loss.

Du Plessis was dismissed in 39 balls with 7 fours and 1 sixes. Shane Watson also scored 50 runs in 32 balls with 3 fours and 4 sixes. Suresh Raina scored 11 and MS Dhoni scored 9 runs. Ambati Rayudu remained unbeaten on 20 runs. Dwayne Bravo also returned unbeaten without opening the account. For Delhi, Bolt, Ishant, Akshar, and Amit Mishra took 1-1 wicket.
