Last year, It was rumored that IPL could be outside India due to Lok Sabha elections. There were places like South Africa and the UAE for hosting this season of IPL. However, the first 17 matches have been announced by the BCCI in India.

If the dates of Elections collide with the IPL, it is very likely that the second part of the tournament can be outside India. In 2009, the entire IPL season was held in South Africa, while in 2014 a part of the tournament was held in the United Arab Emirates.
