Jasprit Bumrah Becomes Second Indian to Take 50 Wickets in T20Is

Jaspreet Bumrah, who took 50 T20 wickets after his three wickets against Australia in 1st T20 in Visakhapatnam, became the second Indian bowler after Ravichandran Ashwin on Sunday. India lost the first match by 3 wickets due to being the last-ball thriller, however, the Indian bowlers were terribly positive for the line-up because they compete for 126 runs against a robust Australian team.
Bumrah got 3 wickets with 16 runs in 4 overs because he gave the match to India on the brink of success when eliminating consecutive Peter Handscomb and Nathan Coulter-Nile in the nineteenth over.
Handscomb was not the only muster-out of Bumrah in the match. Right-handed bowler took 3 wickets, two of which came on consistent balls.
26-year-old bowler of India trapped Australian captain Aaron Finch on the first ball. After Handscomb was dismissed, Bumrah made Nathan Coulter-Nile clean-bowled with the threatening yorker. He finished the match with 3/16 of his four overs in the match.
Bumrah now gets second place with 51 wickets in T20I, while Ashwin has 52 wickets, and if Bumrah draws two more wickets in the second T20I, then he will overtake Ashwin to took the leading wicket-taker for India in T20I.
After the three-wicket defeat against Australia in the first T20I in Visakhapatnam, Indian captain Virat Kohli praised Bumrah’s superb effort and hailed for the half-century of KL Rahul, which he plays runs in the first innings.
Handscomb was not the only dismissal for Bumrah in the match. The right-armbowlerBumrahpicked up three wickets, two of which came in consecutive deliveries.
Bumrah is the world’s 26th bowler to cross the 50-wicket mark in the lowest format. Still, nobody has broken the 100-mark mark in the format. Shahid Afridi of Pakistan has currently made 98 wickets in his name.
