Kolkata Showed The Real Match After The Poor Start

Chasing a target of 221 runs, Kolkata had a very poor start and the team lost their first five wickets for just 31 runs. Shubman Gill (0) was caught in the first over of the innings, caught by Lungi Ngidi off Deepak Chahar. After this, Nitish Rana (9) and Rahul Tripathi (8) also could not do anything special. Under pressure, KKR captain Eoin Morgan also returned to the pavilion after scoring just 7 runs. After Russell’s departure, Dinesh Karthik made some strong shots, but on 40, he became the victim of Lungi Ngidi.

After the dismissal of Dinesh Karthik, it was felt that Chennai would easily win the match, but Pat Cummins came from the dressing room as if he came to the crease and he rained fours and sixes. Cummins hit Sam Karan for 30 runs in the 16th over of the inning and completed his half-century in just 23 balls. However, Cummins did not get the support of the other batsmen and the entire team was all out after scoring 202 runs.
