Pakistan Out Of World Cup Even After Winning against Bangladesh

Afridi became the first teenage to take a five-wicket haul in a cricket world

Pakistan beat Bangladesh by 94 runs in their last match of the ICC World Cup 2019. In this match played at the Lord’s ground, Pakistan made a challenge of 315 runs. After that, their bowlers performed brilliantly and all-out Bangladesh for 221 runs in 44.1 overs.

Shakib Al Hasan (64) scored the highest score for Bangladesh. He hit six fours in his 77-ball knock. Shaheen Afridi took six wickets from Pakistan. This is the best performance done by any bowler in Pakistan in the World Cup. Apart from them, Shadab Khan took two wickets, Wahab Riaz and Mohammad Amir took one wicket each.

Fifth Victory Of Pakistan

This is the fifth win of Pakistan in the current tournament. However, Pakistan has been out of the World Cup despite this victory. When Bangladesh made its seventh run, Pakistan officially got out of the World Cup. Along with this, New Zealand made a place in the semi-finals.

If Pakistan were to dismiss Bangladesh on this impossible score, then its score would be better than the net run rate of New Zealand. In such a situation, Pakistan could get a chance to play a semi-final. Pakistan and New Zealand have 11-11 points.

Bad Start Of Bangladesh

Bangladesh did not start well and fell the first wicket in the sixth over as Soumya Sarkar (22). After this, Team expected from Tamim Iqbal (8) but he returned to the pavilion in the 11th over. Shakib took charge from here. However, no other batsman has managed to support them well.

Veteran batsman Mushfiqur Rahim (16) also lost his wicket in the 18th over. Shakib Al Hasan shared a 58-run partnership for the fourth wicket with Liton Das (32) after Mushfiqur’s dismissal.

Earlier, Pakistan scored 315 runs by losing 9 wickets in 50 overs. Most runs for Pakistan made by Imam-ul-Haq (100). Apart from, Babar Azam (96), Imad Wasim (43), Mohammad Hafeez (27), Fakhar Jamman (13), Mohammad Aamir (8), Haris Sohail (6), Wahab Riaz (2) and Shadab Khan contributed 1 run. Mustafizur Rehman from Bangladesh took 5 wickets, Mohammad Saifuddin got three wickets and Mehidy Hasan took one wicket.
