DC vs RCB: Delhi Capitals beat RCB to seal playoff berth after seven years

Delhi Capitals defeated Royal Challengers Bangalore by 16 runs on the Feroz Shah Kotla ground on Sunday. With this defeat, Virat Kohli’s RCB has been out of the playoffs of the IPL-12.

Delhi Capitals have entered the playoffs of IPL after seven years, thanks to the strong performance of the bowlers after Captain Shreyas Iyer (52) and Shikhar Dhawan (50).

Delhi Capitals captain Shreyas Iyer won the toss and decided to bat first. The hosts scored 187 runs losing 5 wickets in 20 overs in the stipulated 20 overs. In response, the RCB team could score 171 runs for 7 wickets in 20 overs. With this win, Delhi’s team has also reached the top spot in the points table.

RCB inning highlights

Chasing the target of 188 runs on the Feroz Shah Kotla ground, Parthiv Patel (39) and captain Virat Kohli gave a bang starting to team. Both of them added 63 runs in 5.5 overs.

Kagiso Rabada gave the first blow to the team by dismissing Patel. Soon after, Axar Patel gave Delhi a big success by dismissing RCB’s captain Virat Kohli.

Gurkeerat Singh Mann (27) and Marcus Stonis made the competition exciting by sharing a 49-run partnership for the sixth wicket. In the 19th over Ishant Sharma broke this partnership by dismissed Gurkeerat.

In the last over, RCB needed 26 runs to win, but could only make 10 runs. Kagiso Rabada and Amit Mishra took two wickets each from Delhi. Ishant Sharma, Axar Patel, and Sherfane Rutherford have each wicket.

Both the teams have so far played 22 matches in IPL. Of which Delhi won 7 matches, and Bangalore won 14, while there was no result in 1 match.

MUMBAI’S SPECTACULAR WIN, CHENNAI’S EMBARRASSING DEFEAT AT HOME GROUND

Mumbai Indians defeated Chennai Super Kings by 46 runs on Friday in IPL-12. Mumbai has defeated Chennai this season for the second time. Earlier, in the match at the Wankhede stadium, Mumbai beat Chennai by 37 runs. Mumbai presented a challenge of 156 runs in the match played at Chennai’s MA Chidambaram Stadium.

In reply, Chennai’s team got stuck on 109 runs in 17.4 overs. This is the first defeat in their home in Chennai this season. With this victory, Mumbai has reached number two in the points table with 14 points. At the same, Chennai is at the top with points of 16 points in the points table.

The beginning of Chennai was very poor, so the team could not recover till the end. Chennai lost wickets at regular intervals. The poor condition of Chennai can be gauged from it that its seven batsmen could not even touch the double figures. Parag, Archer take Rajasthan Royals to thrilling win as KKR slump to sixth straight defeat

Rajasthan Royals beat Kolkata Knight Riders by three wickets in IPL-12 on Thursday. In this exciting match played at the Eden Gardens ground, Rajasthan has won four balls remaining. This is Kolkata’s sixth consecutive defeat. Kolkata offered a strong challenge of 176 runs in front of the hosts, whose bowlers could not defend.

In reply, Rajasthan achieved this target at a loss of 7 wickets in 19.2 overs. Rajasthan needed 9 runs to win in the last over of the Prasidh Krishna. Jofra Archer, who was on strike, hit four in the first ball and then hit six on the next and added 2 points for his team.

Riyan Parag (47) scored the highest runs for Rajasthan. He planted 5 fours and two sixes in his 31-ball innings. Jaffra Archer 27 runs in 12 balls. Piyush Chawla took three wickets, Sunil Narine got two wickets, Andre Russell, and Prasidh Krishna got 1-1 wickets.

BANGALORE BEAT PUNJAB TO CLINCH THE RACE FOR THE WINNING

Royal Challengers Bangalore defeated Kings XI Punjab by 17 runs on Wednesday and third consecutive victory of Banglore in this match played at the Chinnaswamy Stadium, Bangalore presented a strong target of 203 runs by AB de Villiers (unbeaten 82) for Punjab.

In reply, the Punjab team could score 185 runs in 7 overs in the 20th over. Most runs scored by wicketkeeper Nicholas Puran (46) for Punjab. He scored 1 Four and 5 sixes in his 28-ball innings. Apart from them, Lokesh Rahul (42), Mayank Agarwal (35), David Miller (24), and Chris Gayle contributed 23 runs. For Bangalore, Umesh Yadav took 3 and Navdeep Saini 2 wickets. Moin Ali and Marcus Stonis got one wicket each for Bangalore.

This is the fourth win in 11 matches of Bangalore and now it has reached number seven in the points table with eight points. Bangalore’s hopes of reaching playoffs are still alive. At the same time, Punjab has faced the sixth defeat in 11 matches and the team is at fifth position in the points table with 10 points.

Illustrious inning of RCB

Earlier, Bangalore lost the toss and batted first, RCB present 202 runs by losing 4 wickets in 20 overs. Most runs by AB de Villiers (82 not out) made by Bangalore. He planted three fours and seven sixes in his 44-ball innings.

Bangalore scored 64 runs in the last three overs. De Villiers completed his half-century in 35 balls. This season is his fifth half-century. At the start, Marcus Stoinis played with a slow pace but after some time he gave a good contribution to RCB. He hit two fours and three sixes in 34 balls. Ravichandran Ashwin, Hardus Viljoen, Murugan Ashwin, and Mohammed Shami picked up one wicket each for Punjab.

KXIP won the toss and decided to bowl first. Punjab made two changes in its team. Punjab replaced Nicholas Pooran and Ankit Rajput in place of Harpreet Brar and Sam Curran in the final eleven. And another side, Bangalore also made two changes in its team. Bangalore gave the opportunity to Washington Sundar and Tim Southee in the place of Pawan Negi and Dale Steyn.

IPL 2019: Pant trumps ton-up Rahane as Delhi Capitals beat Rajasthan Royals to go top

Delhi Capitals won a match against Rajasthan Royals on Monday. In Sawai Mansingh Stadium, Rajasthan presented a strong challenge of 192 runs on the brilliant innings of Ajinkya Rahane (105 not out). In response, Delhi achieved this goal in 19.2, thanks to the brilliant inning of Rishabh Pant (78 not out).

Pant put the winning six on Jaydev Unadkat’s ball. Pant hit six fours and four sixes in his 36-ball innings. Apart from them, Shikhar Dhawan (54), Prithvi Shaw scored 42. Shreyas Gopal got two wickets from Rajasthan while Dhawal Kulkarni and Riyan Parag got one wicket each.

This is the seventh win in 11 matches of Delhi and now it has reached the top of the points table with 14 points. At the same, Rajasthan have faced 7th defeat in 10 matches and the team is at seventh in the points table with six points. Earlier, Rajasthan batted first after losing the toss and scored 191 runs by losing 6 wickets in 20 overs.

Rajasthan’s inning

Ajinkya Rahane (unbeaten 105) scored the highest run opener from Rajasthan side. He planted 11 fours and 3 sixes in his innings of 63 balls. Rahane’s the second century in IPL.

Rajasthan started poorly, and Sanju Samson (0) run out of the team’s score of five runs. After that, Rahane and Smith (50) presented a 130-run partnership for the second wicket in 75 balls. For Delhi, Kagiso Rabada got two wickets while Ishant Sharma, Axar Patel, and Chris Morris took one wicket each.

Rajasthan’s team has returned to victory line this season after changing their captain. Captaincy in the hands of Smith, who replaced Ajinkya Rahane as the new captain, the team beat former champions Mumbai Indians by five wickets in their home ground. As soon as Smith becomes the captain, runs from his bat has begun.
