In the seventh match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2021, Rajasthan Royals faced Delhi Capitals on Thursday. Rajasthan Royals defeated Delhi Capitals by 3 wickets in a thrilling match. The target of 148 runs was achieved by Rajasthan Royals losing 7 wickets in 19.4 overs. In the last two overs for Rajasthan, Chris morris batted stormily and gave the team the victory. He played an unbeaten inning of 36 runs in 18 balls. Morris smashed a six to give Rajasthan their first win of the season.

Kagiso Rabada took two wickets for Delhi Capitals. Chris Woakes 2 and Avesh Khan took the maximum three wickets. Earlier, thanks to the bowling performance of the bowlers led by Jaydev Unadkat, Rajasthan Royals held Delhi Capitals to 147 for eight. Unadkat took three wickets for 15 runs in four overs. Apart from him, Mustafizur Rahman took two wickets for 29 runs.

For Delhi, captain Rishabh Pant hit a 51-run stand before being run out. Apart from them, Tom Karan scored 21 and Lalit Yadav scored 20 runs. The exact bowling of the Royals can be gauged from the fact that Delhi’s innings did not take a single six. Royals’ captain Sanju Samson won the toss and invited Delhi to bat first and their bowlers left no stone unturned to justify their decision.

In the second over of the innings, Unadkat gave a good start to the Royals by getting Prithvi Shaw caught by David Miller at the backward point for 2 runs on a slow ball. Opener Shikhar Dhawan (09) hit a four off Chetan Sakariya but his excellent catch was caught by wicketkeeper Samson off Unadkat. Pant opened the account with a four on Unadkat but the fast bowler caught Ajinkya Rahane (08) in the next over with his own ball and Delhi scored 36 for three in six overs. In the next over, Mustafizur gave a fourth blow to Delhi by sending Marcus Stoinis to the pavilion without opening the account.

Rishabh Pant and Debut Lalit Yadav then took over the innings. Yadav opened the account with two fours on the most expensive player of the IPL auction, Chris Maurice. Pant welcomed Rahul Tewatia with four fours. 20 runs scored in this over. Pant completed a 30-ball half-century with a four over Mustafizur. He, however, was run out with an accurate throw from the bowler in an attempt to steal a quick run in Parag’s next over. He hit nine fours in his 32-ball innings. Delhi’s 100 runs came in the 15th over. But in the same over from Chris Maurice, Tewatia took a great catch of Yadav (20), running back from mid on. Tom Curren 21 and Chris Woakes (15 not out) played some attractive shots in the final overs to take the team score to 147 runs.
