IPL 2019: 23rd Match, Chennai Super Kings vs Kolkata Knight Riders

Indian Premier League (IPL) 2019-Kolkata Knight Riders did not show any hard performance against Chennai Super Kings on Tuesday. On the worst pitch of MA Chidambaram stadium, the visitor could score 108/9 in 20 overs. The Champions CSK reached 111/3 in 17.2 overs and won an easy win and got the top spot in the points table. Faf du Plessis not out 43 not out

Russell, who was known to play with the bowlers in the death overs, joined his team in the ninth over when the team’s score was 44/5. He handled his luck and played till the end of the innings (44balls 50 runs- 5×4, 3×6).

The CSK bowlers kept a stern stand and drew the batsmen towards their doom. The KKR’s top order was playing across the line, while in the lower order, CSK’s Harbhajan Singh, Imran Tahir and Ravindra Jadeja’s was playing with the spin ball.

After opting to bowl by MS Dhoni, the home team did not have to wait long to celebrate. Three wickets in the first three overs with only nine runs.

Opener Chris Lynn tried straight delivery on Deepak Chahar’s ball before falling for LBW. With a slight jump on the dull track, more power was needed than power, but the approach of KKR batsmen was not ideal anywhere.

As soon as Harbhajan Singh gave the ball air, Sunil Narine got trapped in an attempt. What resulted was a ball hit on bat top-edge and a catch by Chahar.  Young Indian batsman who did not learn from Lynn’s dismissal and did the same mistake by trying to hit low delivery ball of Chahar, as a result, Nitish Rana was dismissed at 11 runs.

After the top order batsmen went, KKR captain Dinesh Karthik and Robin Uthappa needed to revive the innings. But later Chahar and Tahir were out on the ball.

Russell played a very unruly knock. He waited for his chance and even got the lifeline in the eighth over when Harbhajan left a catch on the ball of Imran Tahir.

Dhoni’s bowlers target batsmen at the other end. Jadeja, Tahir, and Harbhajan trapped last four players and KKR had the only wicket left in which Russell play with tailender player Harry Gurani for the last three overs.

Russell hit many balls and even missed a few deliveries. In last over, he got his half-century with two fours and a six against Scott Kualjeana and KKR team crossed the 100-run mark.

After getting wickets of CSK opener Shane Watson and number three Suresh Raina in the first three overs, Narayan said it was not enough for a team. Faf du Plessis and Ambati Rayudu scored 46 runs, which was devoid of any catchy shot and kept the CSK in control. Although Rayudu went from the pitch when CSK was at 81runs, du Plessis and Kedar Jadhav ensured that the delay will not come.

IPL 2019: Delhi Capitals’ Win Over Kolkata Knight Riders

The match of Saturday, which was played between Delhi Capitals and Kolkata Knight Riders in Delhi on March 30, was very interesting. Delhi Capitals beat Knight Riders in Super Over. There was a lot of discussion of the batting of Prithvi Shaw and Andre Russell and the bowling of Kagiso Rabada and Kuldeep Yadav in the match.

Kolkata Knight Riders made a score of 61/5 in 9.1 overs against Delhi capitals on Saturday evening, reaching 185/8 in the 20th over. That’s probably not an unknown attempt in the world of T20 cricket. At one place of 43 balls and 95 runs, Russell and Captain Dinesh Karthik broke many myths about batting in T20 cricket.

Super over Match: – It Happened

Prithvi  Shaw, Shreyas Iyer, and Rishabh Pant, the next generation of Indian batting, which was prepared in the Delhi franchise, the performances of both Kartik and Russell were almost identical, which attacked the last end of the inning at the end of the match. After finishing at Delhi 185/6, to save 10 runs in Super Over, Much to the home team’s joy, Kagiso Rabada played in the right yorker.

When Kagiso Rabada was handed over to the super-overs by the Delhi capitals, his mind had a simple plan – to bowl six yorkers to prevent 10 runs.

Even though he did not succeed in his first delivery, due to which Andre Russell had sent out the first ball, he took the other five deliveries to the target, as a result, Kolkata Knight Riders stopped at 1 and 7 and Delhi won the match.

Prithvi Shaw Missed A Century In The Youngest Of The IPL With 1 Run

Prithvi Shaw missed out on making history on Saturday because he was out of the match at the score of 99 in the Ferozeshah Kotla against Kolkata Knight Riders. Chasing a challenging target of 186, Prithvi Shaw played 99 runs in 55 balls.

After Shreyas Iyer’s wicket fell, Shaw got off to bat in Super Over but did not face any ball.

If Prithvi Shaw became involved in its first IPL century, then in 19 years and 142 days, in the history of the league, the youngest player to become a hundred. Sunrisers Hyderabad batsman Manish Pandey has the youngest record of putting the century in 19 years and 25 days in IPL.

In 19 over, It was a heart-breaking moment for Delhi’s capitals because Shaw missed a century from one run.

First four then six, what a hit and what a shot to finish. Rashid Khan played well and help to win SRH with an over to spare.  And they got the 4th position with 2 points. David Warner, playing a brilliant inning of 69 runs, made a consistent half-century for Orange Cap, saying that it would be with me as Sunrisers Hyderabad defeated Rajasthan Royals by five wickets at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium on Friday.

With this, the host team registered their first win in IPL 2019, while the visitor team suffered a second defeat because they lost their first match against Kings XI Punjab by 14 runs. Rashid Khan hit the winning six and Sunrisers Hyderabad managed to get the target of 199 with an over to spare.

First Century of IPL 2019

Earlier, for Rajasthan Royals, Sanju Samson scored an unbeaten 102, while Captain Ajinkya Rahane hit an important 70 runs, as the visitors scored 198/2 in their allotted 20 overs at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium.

Samson, who became the first batsman to score a century in the Indian Premier League in 2019, played an unbeaten inning of 102 runs in 55 balls, including 10 fours and four sixes. It was Samson’s second IPL century since he made his first century in 2017.

After the first wicket, Rahane scored 70 off 49 balls and added hundred for a team with Samson for the second wicket. After playing a short partnership with Jos Buttler, the pair created the basic score for a defendable target. Ben Stokes played some stylish shots and hit three boundaries for 16 runs.

Bad for Rajasthan:-

Sanju Samson made his second IPL century, but it got useless due to the splendid partnership between David Warner and Johnny Bairstow, and Vijay Shankar and Rashid Khan scored magnificent boundaries for the hosts.

Good catch from Kulkarni

Dhawal Kulkarni got himself back after dropping the Bairstow catch in the 10th over as he got a great catch on the long-off. When Bairstow was dismissed by Shreyas Gopal in the next over, then much credit of that wicket should go to the glorious catches of Dhawal Kulkarni.

The catch was something like this:- He was close to the boundary, had to jump to grab the ball, found the time right and remained in the grip and remained inside the rope.

Rashid Khan (Man of the Match with 1 wicket /24 runs and 15 runs off 8 balls):

I think that I just do my best to stay positive in every game and I am working hard and believe in my skills, so this is working for me. The plan was to bowl Butler in a good length area, I have dismissed him a few times, so I came early. I was getting my own variations. I didn’t want to give room to batsmen because the ball wasn’t turning much.

I have five different leg-spin variants with different actions. I return myself with my variations and pitch it in the area of good length. I am working on my batting. When my team needs me, then I have to bat well. My coach – Moody, Murali, and Laxman have always supported me and have given me so much confidence that you can hit anywhere, it’s just a matter of supporting myself. That’s what I did.

IPL 2019: Jasprit Bumrah brilliance, umpire howler hand MI nervy win over RCB

Mumbai Indians’ Bumrah and Malinga stole the match in a splendid manner with their two incredible overs. Jasprit Bumrah and Lasith Malinga held spectator’s eyes on the ground as MI beat RCB by 6 runs in a last-over thriller. Bumrah star for Mumbai Indian and man of the match:-

Jaspreet Bumrah was playing the trick for MI because he took the four wickets yesterday. Colin de Grandhome was caught out by Krunal Pandya and AB de Villiers was playing in the middle of the ground as the last hope to win RCB. It was the turning point of the match because Bumrah took one wicket and got only 5 runs.

Jasprit Bumrah, Man of the Match: He focuses only on the situation in front of him and backs himself. His plan against every batsman today was that it would be good. It ends by saying that its shoulder is perfectly fine.

The first innings was largely revolving around the captain Rohit, he was in good touch and was looking for a big score, but got out against the run-out. Yuvraj was also playing fine hit, but Chahal was dismissed him after three consecutive sixes. Wickets kept falling and Bangalore has come back, but Hardik’s latest cameo ensured that match will be tough for a host team at the Chinnaswamy.

Kohli dismissed after completing a milestone history:-

Virat Kohli completed 5000 IPL runs and he became only the second player in the history of the tournament to achieve this achievement after Suresh Raina. But just after doing so, Kohli lost his concentration and was bowled out of Bumrah, which was caught by midwicket by Hardik Pandya. Kohli was out on 46, and RCB lost their third wicket.

Last-over thriller

1st ball – Shivam Dubey gave huge six on the field. RCB now needs 11 out of 6 deliveries.

2nd ball – Dube hit a ball into the air but Bumrah has left the catch at the off-side. Due to the ABD strikes, the batsmen take single.

3rd ball – ABD took a single and RCB needed 9 off 3 deliveries.

5th ball – A good yorker from Malinga and ABD could only take one. RCB needed 7 runs on the last ball.

Wonderful end of the match:-

Prasidh Krishna kept things tight in the 18th over and gave only 10 runs. It looked great, but the situation is good in the Eden Gardens. KXIP needed 58 runs in the last two overs and it seemed to be an impossible job at the moment.

KXIP managed to score 13 runs in the last over, but in the end, it was not enough to win because Punjab were less than 28 runs. Miller remained unbeaten on 59 while Mandeep scored 33 runs. Andre Russell was the favorite of the bowlers and he also took two important wickets.

Half-centuries of KKR batsmen:-

In the first innings, Robin Uthappa completed the 24th IPL half-century with four and played one of the finest IPL knocks with responsibility. Rana spread his legs while encouraging his last innings and helped  KKR  to overtake KXIP and retain the rate of more than eight runs. In which Rana scored 63 runs in 34 balls.

17-ball 48 was not a half-century by Russell, but it was a wonderful inning to win the match. , In which the strike rate was 282. Russell was honored with the Man of the Match in the second match. Russell and Uthappa scored 69 runs out of 32 to improve KKR’s score in Eden. Russell gained glow with the ball as well as he captured important wickets of Chris Gayle and Sarfaraz Khan, who were the hero of the previous match of KXIP.

In the second inning, Mayank Agarwal made his good half-century and he was doing well in good times too. This is Agarwal’s 4th IPL fifty and everyone knew that the victory has not yet happened. That’s time, Punjab needed 95 out of 36 now.

15 runs came from the penultimate over but KXIP still need 42 runs to win. David Miller completed his fantastic half-century but there is no celebration.

Man of the Match:

Andre Russell: I think I have to make a big garage with all these cars and awards (smiles), Gale is like a brother to me, the legend of cricket. It was very good to them early out. I am happy that I got the job. Today I hit some big ones, but he (Gayle) is still a bigger hitter. Thanks to that man were not inside. When I used to bowl, I was like that. I missing it But then when I saw the check of the umpire for no-ball I was like please God let it be free-hit for the front foot, but it was given to the fielder’s mistake.
