Mumbai Indians made it to the finals of the 12th season of the Indian Premier League (IPL). Mumbai defeated current champion Chennai Super Kings by six wickets in the first qualifier on Tuesday.
The three-time champion Mumbai has been in the final for the fifth time. In the match played at MA Chidambaram Stadium, Chennai presented a weak challenge of 132 runs. In reply, Mumbai easily achieved this target at a 4-wicket loss in 18.3 overs.
Despite this defeat, there is still another chance for Chennai to reach the finals. The team of Chennai will now compete in the second qualifier from the winning side of the Eliminator match. In Eliminator Match, Delhi capitals will battle with Sunrisers Hyderabad.

Suryakumar Yadav (Not out 71) scored the highest score for Mumbai. He hit 10 fours in his 54-ball knock. Mumbai started a match with a disappointing performance. His openers Rohit Sharma (4) and Quintan Dikouk (8) returned to the pavilion soon.
However, Suryakumar, who came for batting at number three, kept one end and won a match for the team and returned to the pavilion after playing spectacular performance. He made an important partnership of 80 runs with Ishant Kishan (28) for the third wicket. Both of them made an unbeatable partnership of 66 runs for the fifth wicket. Dhoni initially batted a bit slow but he got the momentum quickly. He made 3 sixes in his 29-ball knock. The Chennai team scored 35 runs in the last four overs, due to which they could reach a somewhat respectable score. Rahul Chahar got two wickets from Mumbai while Krunal Pandya and Jayant Yadav got one wicket each.
